Russell Morris

Russell Morris hails from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire but now lives in the picturesque village of Clun in the Shropshire Hills. He trained at Sheffield's Hallam University where he took a 1st Class degree in Fine Arts. Initially known for his large, abstract paintings, his style has developed over the years to encompass intimate boxed assemblages and intense figurative works drawing on life experiences as well as paintings of a variety of landscape subjects. In recent years he has explored his fascination with the West Highlands of Scotland through a range of paintings of broad panoramic views and of closely observed landscape details, working both with paint and directly with earths taken from the locale.
